- Check credit history at http://annualcreditreport.com Old accounts inactive for 7 yrs are automatically closed and any funds sent to the State Treasury.
- go to the banks you were enrolled in and it will be in their system
- Your best bet is to go to your bank that you opened them with. If it's still opened, your account would show up in the bank's computer system.
- I think Age of Reason didn't understand your question - you can't find missing checking accounts through your credit file. The only way is to be able search your own papers/files for any checks that you may have written in the last few years. You may have some problems as many banks have gone out of business and changed their names - There is a data file that banks use to find fraudulent activity under names and ss#, perhaps you could ask a local bank for assistance with your problem. I know that a friend of mine applied for public assistance, and the agency was able to show her a bank account in her name and she was disqualified because the account had too much money in it. (she told me that it wasn't her account)
