Checking Account Deals

Are there any deals for opening a checking account?

I wanna open a checking account with any major bank out there. I see deals all the time for like " $100 when you sign up for a checking account". Does anyone know of any current deals for opening up a checking/saving account?

1. not these days banking sucks no special deals that ive seen
2. some places but dont choose because of that cause some banks are not the best place to have your money
3. As far as checking accounts, unless you have $5,000-10,000 as a balance, do not really have any great deals. However, a good value for a checking account will have no monthly fees, a high (or unlimited number) of transactions per month, some will offer free checks (or free checks for the first order), etc. I just opened an E*Trade checking and savings account and love the features and no fees associated with the accounts. Most checking accounts will offer very low APYs regardless, but E*Trade's savings APY is currently 3.3%.
