Checking Account Deals

I live in North East Ohio, what would be the best bank to open a savings and checking account with?

My husband and I just moved back to NE Ohio. We are looking for a bank with a good interest rate on savings accounts. And or good promotions on checking accounts. And it's always nice to hear good things from customers, not banks trying to get you to sign up.

1. The best bank to use isn't a bank at all, but a credit union. If your jobs entitle you to join a credit union, do so. Most credit unions provide great service, offer pretty much the full range of banking services, and offer slightly better interest rates than do equivalent banks. Since credit unions are not-for-profit organizations chartered to provide service to their members, unlike banks which are incorporated to make money for their stockholders, credit unions are usually the way to go...
